The city of Guatemala will enjoy the benefits of a brand new high-rise building complex located in the city’s prestigious business district. The Zona Pradera complex offers impressive real estate opportunities for businesses and residents. The new four tower construction is built around the prominent shopping center, Zona Pradera. The four towers offer spectacular views from any location, and boast hundreds of office spaces and 150 apartments. Tenants and residents can enjoy access to the Zona Pradera shopping center via a skywalk. Residents, employees and area shoppers will have ample parking in the new 2500 car parking lot.
With the addition of the four towers, the Zona Pradera shopping center needed to update its existing security system to a security management system that could grow with their changing needs. After reviewing several products, Zona Pradera chose G4S Technology’s Symmetry™ Security Management System. Symmetry offered an enterprise security management system that could seamlessly integrate access control and digital video. The system could operate over the network and accommodate growth as more towers are built. G4S Guatemala installed the system, and seven towers total will be completed over the next several years.
Security officers manage Symmetry, which controls access to all perimeter doors, allowing residents, staff and visitors access via their badge during scheduled times. Residents may have access to their apartment building 24-hours-a-day, while employees of the various businesses may have access from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents do not have access into the business units, and employees cannot enter the residential tower areas.
The integration to the camera system allows security operators to “see” more at one time via the Symmetry virtual matrix screen. The operators can view an alarm in Symmetry, determine its cause and decide right from the workstation whether or not to send a security officer to investigate. The integration saves the security officer time and allows the officers to be more productive.
Integrated with the complex’s building management system, Symmetry controls the building’s lighting providing an energy cost savings. The system can automatically enable or disable sensor movements at scheduled times.
Having a multi-functional building that must secure residents and business tenants, Zona Pradera’s building owners needed to provide a robust visitor management solution. Symmetry’s visitor management module provided the precise solution. Building tenants are able to assign visitor badges to guests or contractors and schedule them to expire on a chosen date. Visitors can enter and leave during scheduled hours and the badge expires on the date entered into the system, always keeping the building secured.
